Common name: Live Oak

Height & width: 40 to 80’ high and 60 to 100’ wide
Leaves: 1.25 to 3” long, 3” wide; elliptical, alternate, evergreen
Origin: Southeastern United States       

Full sun and partial shade are preferred for Live Oaks which can grow fast in its youth and live on for centuries. The tree is adaptable to most soils, and has exceptional wind resistance. Though visually it gives off a Mediterranean aesthetic, Live Oaks are considered an iconic symbol of the Old South in the United States.
